A priority on this build was to create a stunning outdoor living space. The connection between the interior and exterior spaces drove the architecture for this home. The size of the home had to be increased by about 200 square feet to allow for an optimal pocketing slider door system. This allowed me to create great open spaces from the great room, kitchen and dining room seamlessly leading to the covered outdoor areas. Creating a spectacular covered outdoor living area is at the top of the list right now for Florida homebuyers. The outdoor living space in this home has seating for twelve adjacent to the outdoor kitchen and room for multiple sofas by the outdoor television.

The typical Bird Key lot is about 100 feet wide with 150 feet of depth. These lots have around the same width as most Country Club Shores lots but have significantly more depth. The extra depth allows for much more room to be creative with the pool plan. Instead of dropping the pool on the ground the extra depth allowed the pool to be raised up to the same level as the house and incorporate the pool as an extension of the covered outdoor living space. This lot had 106 feet in width compared to the usual 100 feet. The extra 6 feet does not seem like much but this made the difference in being able to add a 3 car garage to this home. This home features a massive 3 car garage with room for shelving and a work area.
Construction will be starting on a coastal version of this home on Meadow Lark at the same time. Our approach will be to build homes that respectfully compliment the neighborhood but stand out in architecture and design. Ana Santa Maria from Apex Studio is working as the interior designer for these homes. We are excited to see Ana’s vision come to life and will update as the home progresses.
